Event Time and Date
February 21st is the national breaking of the silence, which is a day dedicated to all of those who cannot be true to themselves due to fear. The day starts with people being completely silent all day to represent the thousands that cannot speak for themselves because of fear of death, isolation, punishment, etc. The day ends with the breaking of the silent event where everyone can speak again to discuss the importance of the day and current events in the world and community. Usually, we have a musical performance as well. Also it is included in the Pride month activities.
